The Imperial marque was introduced by Chrysler to compete directly with those of their arch rival, Cadillac. The top of the range Le Baron cost a massive $6400 when new in 1962 and understandably was only affordable by the very rich.
Featuring a 7 litre V8 engine, it has electric windows and even electric seat adjustment, both features well ahead of their time in 1962. The pillarless hardtop makes it ideal for wedding photography.
The upholstery and carpets are both finished in burgundy. The Imperial has acres of space inside and can quite comfortably carry 5 passengers. Truly amazing all round and no wonder Chrysler considered it their flagship car!
